DRESS
RULES
GOLF COURSE
Heworth Golf Club operates a strict, common
sense approach to dress rules.
All Members, Guests and Visitors will be
welcome to the use of the facilities offered by this golf
club provided that they are suitably dressed and adhere to
rules recorded below.
The following items of clothing are
NOT ALLOWED
on the golf course or practice areas:

Blue Denim Clothing
Shirts without collars
Football/Rugby strips
Tracksuits or part thereof
Clothing with offensive logos
Soiled work wear (for example overalls or part
thereof)
Shorts may be worn provided they are of the
TAILORED
variety and worn with socks.
All golfers must wear golf shoes.
CLUBHOUSE
The committee requests that members, guest
and visitors must be dressed in a
SMART
and
RESPECTABLE
manner.
The following items of clothing are
NOT ALLOWED
in the clubhouse:

Football/Rugby strips
Vests
Tracksuit or part thereof
Clothing with offensive logos
Golf shoes, caps, hats, waterproof trousers, soiled
Work Wear (e.g. overalls or part thereof) except in the locker rooms.
Shorts
must be of the
tailored
variety and worn with socks.
CLUBHOUSE
RULES
GENERAL
Mobile phones
are to be switched off or in the mute mode
whilst on the course and consideration must be given to
other members whilst in use in the clubhouse.
Offensive and abusive language of any
description will not be tolerated in the clubhouse or on the
course.
No dogs, with the exception of Guide Dogs,
are allowed in the clubhouse or on the course.
LOCKER ROOMS AND
TOILETS
The use of any golf equipment for putting or
chipping etc. is not allowed in locker rooms.
The wash facilities are not be used for
cleaning golf equipment.
GENERAL RULES
PRACTICE AREAS
That on the area between 9th and
10th holes you may only hit balls from the bunker
end toward the 12th fairway. No balls to be
purposely hit out of practice area.
The area between the 14th and 18th
holes, balls may only be hit from the putting green end and
no balls to be purposely hit out of practice area.
No chipping onto the putting green.
When using any practice area, including the
practice nets, consideration must be given to those golfers
playing the course.
COURSE
All golfers must be aware of the Rules of
Golf, Golf Course Etiquette and the Local Rules of Heworth
Golf Club before playing on the course.
No practising is allowed on the course.
Play should be with one ball only other than
where the Rules of Golf permit.
Play should be from the appropriate tees.
COURSE BOUNDARIES
The boundaries of the Golf Club must be
adhered to. No member, visitor or caddie is to climb any
fence to retrieve golf balls or for any other reason.
MISCELLANEOUS
During team matches the team has priority on
the course.
Members are to maintain and leave the
facilities provided in a manner in which they expect to find
them.
Any member of Heworth Golf Club offending or
ignoring the Rules will be severely reprimanded and may face
disciplinary action.
Any complaint against any member of the staff
must be directed to an OFFICER of the club.
