Pictured are the members of the ladies section attending the Christmas dinner and wearing their present from their Captain

Linda, a lovely wool hat specially  hand made by her.

The ladies provided the special raffle table seen below at the club Christmas social and raised £340 to be shared between

the various charities we support and the ladies section.

Away day to Romanby - Good day had by all...course was in good condition as were the greens.  Lot of very wide fairways but some very difficult holes involving water which caught a lot of us out...bit of a mind over matter job. Picture shows Lady Captain Linda Elliott with her IPC Janet Ross and two club members Vera Brown and Doreen Nesbitt

 Ladies News 2015

JANUARY 7TH AGM 2015

The AGM passed without  any controversial issues being raised. There were no proposals for alterations to the Section's operating guidelines so happilly the previous committee appeared to be getting it right. We had a new lady, Mrs Susan Handley nominated and accepted onto committee and hopefully she will enjoy the experience.

Liz McKenzie agree to take over from Doreen Nesbitt as handicap secretary.

There was an item for discussion proposed by the committee and that was a proposal that all competition winners would be presented with their prizes on Presentation Night instead of  the situation which has been operating for the past number of years where the more minor competitions and qualifiers  were presented at the Christmas Dinner or the AGM.

There was a query about the restrictions placed on nominated players in the Anderson leagues and that was given a preliminary answer and confirmed later by the Lady Secretary.

This year's committee members are as follows:-

Lady Captain - Mrs Linda Elliott

Vice - Captain - Mrs Pat McMeekin

I.P.C. - Mrs Janet Ross

Lady Secretary - Mrs Doreen Nesbitt

Treasurer - Mrs Linda Elliott

Handicap Secretary - Mrs Liz McKenzie

Committee Members - Mrs Val Chambers - Mrs Lynn Errington - Mrs Susan Handley - Mrs Lynda Hall - Mrs Debbie Gilbertson

Mrs Cynthia Devine was co-opted onto committee  as a member of the main managment committee of the club

Lady Captain Linda Elliott Versus Lady Vice-Captain Pat McMeekin Sunday April 5th 2015, the first event of the season resulted in a win for the Captain's team.  We had the usual presentation of theShiela Wilson Vase but this year we were competing for space in the clubhouse because there was the Newcastle V Sunderland football derby match and the Rob Jopling qualifier for the men alongside our match and the lounge had been pre-booked for an anniversary celebration.  So we had to make do with the snooker room for our presentation which was accompanied by tea and scones courtesy of our new President Mr. Barry McGregor....thank you to Barry for the kind thought.
