Local Rules
1. OUT OF
BOUNDS (Rule 27-1)
a) Beyond any of the fences or
hedges forming the course boundaries. Where there is a fence
within a hedge the fence forms the boundary.
b) Beyond the wire fence to the
right of the 1st tee.
c) The clubhouse, car park and
all artificially surfaced roads and paths in the clubhouse
area.
d) In or anywhere beyond the
trench to the right of the 9th hole indicated by white
stakes. In the play of the 8th hole these posts are deemed
to be immovable obstructions -Rule 24-2(b) applies.
e) In or beyond the
trenched/marked line to the right of the 11th hole indicated
by white stakes.
f) The practice area and the
practice putting green to the right of the 18th hole
indicated by white stakes.
g) The practice area to the left
of the 9th hole and to the right of the 10th hole
as indicated by marked lines and white stakes.
h) Beyond the steel fence
surrounding the greenkeepers compound.
i) On or beyond the path behind
the 1st tee, the 18th green leading to the 14th
tee indicated by the trench and white stakes.
j) A ball coming to rest between
the white lines on the path leading to the 3rd
green and the white stakes marking the edge of the path.
K) Beyond the white posts or
line to the right of the 6th hole.
2. WATER
HAZARDS (Rule 26)
a) Ordinary water hazards are
identified by yellow stakes or defined by yellow lines.
b) Lateral water hazards are
indicated by red stakes or defined by red lines.
3. GROUND
UNDER REPAIR
a) GUR – all areas marked with
white paint.
b) GUR (play prohibited) – All
areas or copses defined by a marked line and blue stakes or
trees surrounded by wire mesh and blue stakes are Ground
Under Repair from which play is PROHIBITED. If such an area
interferes with a players stance or the area of intended
swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty, and dropped
in accordance with Rule 25-1(b). The ball may be cleaned
when so lifted. If there is reasonable evidence that a ball
is lost in such an area Rule 25-1(c) applies.
4. PROTECTION
OF YOUNG TREES
Identified by stakes, guards or
wire mesh. If such a tree interferes with a ‘player's
stance’ or the area of his ‘intended swing’ the ball MUST be
lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the
procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2(b). The ball may be
cleaned when so lifted.
5.
OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24)
a) STONES IN BUNKERS are
moveable obstructions and Rule 24-1 applies
b) RELIEF FROM IMMOVABLE
OBSTRUCTIONS is obtained under Rule 24-2(b)
c) FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS the
specimen local rule on Page 128 of the Rules of Golf is in
effect
d) BRIDGES – ALL STONE, FIXED
and PORTABLE WOODEN BRIDGES are defined as INTEGRAL parts of
the course, thereby, the ball shall be played as it lies.
Relief may be obtained under penalty, applying Rule 28, ball
unplayable.
e) PATHS, - ALL INTERNAL PATHS
are deemed to be Immovable Obstructions and relief must be
taken at the nearest point, not nearer the hole, without
penalty under Rule 24-2(b)
6) ABNORMAL
GROUND CONDITIONS (Rule 25)
a) TRACTOR MARKS – A player
whose ball is lying in a tractor mark may obtain relief
under Rule 25-1(b)
b) EMBEDDED BALL – A ball
embedded in its own pitch mark in any close mown area
‘Through the Green’ may obtain relief under Rule 25-2
c) DRAINAGE SLITS – For those
slits defined in Local Rules, relief may be taken under Rule
25-1(b)
