Our sponsors for the 2012 season   Many Thanks !

Welcome to Heworth Golf Club

The Centenary celebrations are almost upon us. On Friday 15th June we have our Centenary greensome competition when all players are asked to come dressed in period clothing from the early 20th Century. All players will also play with hickory shafted clubs which have already been ordered. These will be hired out on the day at £12 per set and can be shared with your playing partner.

On the Friday evening we have a fantastic showband "Fashion Fever". Tickets are £5 each and are available from Colin Loader or ask at the bar.

Please get your name down early for these events as we do not want to disappoint.

For details of the events planned for Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June please see the "Centenary News" section on the "Members Pages" tab.

An Introduction to Our Club

"Heworth Golf Club really is an absolute gem"

In 2012 the club celebrates it's Centenary year and we are proud that the club has continued to grow in stature throughout our 100 year history.

We continue to adapt to change and to the demands of modern times while maintaining the traditions of golf and the traditions of Heworth Golf Club.

Our course has matured into one of the most respected courses in the area and is always immaculately presented and boasts the best greens in the North East of England.

In 2009 the club hosted the Northern Counties match between the Durham County Golf Union and the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs. In 2011 we hosted the Durham County Golf Union County Championship and in our Centenary Year we have been asked to host the English Golf Union Seniors County Finals.  For this we are honoured and immensely proud.

We have always offered a friendly welcome to all who visit our club (opens Windows Media Player in a new window) and we would be delighted to welcome you as our guest.
