An Introduction to Our Club
"Heworth Golf Club really is an absolute gem"
During the 2015 season, we will, on Wednesday 27 May, be hosting the Durham County Golf Union Boys Under 14 Championship with the Durham County Boys and Boys Under 16 Championship taking place on Saturday 6 June. We are also hosting Durham County Ladies Golf Association Junior Girls Appleby Bowl on Sunday 24 May and the Durham County Junior Golf Society on Thursday 28 May.
In 2012 the club celebrated it's Centenary year and we are proud that we have continued to grow in stature throughout our 100 year history.
We continue to adapt to change and to the demands of modern times while maintaining the traditions of golf and the traditions of Heworth Golf Club.
Our course has matured into one of the most respected courses in the area and is always immaculately presented and boasts the best greens in the North East of England.
In 2009 the club hosted the Northern Counties match between the Durham County Golf Union and the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs. In 2011 we hosted the Durham County Golf Union County Championship and in our Centenary Year 2012 we hosted the English Golf Union Seniors County Finals. For this we are honoured and immensely proud.
We have always offered a friendly welcome to all who visit our club (opens Windows Media Player in a new window) and we would be delighted to welcome you as our guest.

Message from Club Captain 2015 - Brian Weston
The start of a new season is underway and already credit must be given to Colin Pringle - Head Green keeper and his team who have worked tirelessly over the winter months to set the course up to a good standard at this early stage.
To everyone at whatever level of golf attained, I hope you have an enjoyable and successful season.
MACMILLAN CANCER RESEARCH
Longest Day Challenge - 21 June 2015
Four Heroes - 72 Holes - One epic battle
The Heroes (all Heworth Members):
Micky Walker weighed his bag and it was 2st 2.5lb's, that's heavier than his son Mason! And he carried it for 4 rounds.
Graeme also carried his bag, but the over 40s had trolleys (and 4x different batteries in the case of John Morris)!
Many thanks to Heworth Golf Club for allowing us to do challenge.
Special thanks to Heather and the bar staff for making sure the sponsorship forms regularly passed through the bar.
Also extra thanks to the Ladies section who allowed us to play through their competition offering words of encouragement and more importantly sweets!
Our current running total for Macmillan Cancer Care is just over £2000 so the whole day was a complete success!
