Welcome to Heworth Golf Club
A message from your Captains
The festive season is over and we are all looking forward to another year of great golf.
We both feel very privileged to have been selected as Captains of Heworth Golf Club as we celebrate our Centenary year in 2012.
We were delighted to see so many of you turn out for the drive in last Saturday (click here to watch the video) an event that has not taken place before in the 100 year history of the club. We feel sure that this will be repeated in the years to come and perhaps the lady Captain of 2112 will dress in clothes of the early 21st century?
All too often the competitive side of golf is the part that generates the headlines. Who won the competition at the weekend? How can I reduce my handicap? Who has the lowest round of the season? Of course, these things are important but we should never forget that at the end of the day we are on the golf course to enjoy ourselves. Carry that thought with you throughout the season and your game is sure to improve.
Have a great year and good luck to you all.

An Introduction to Our Club
"Heworth Golf Club really is an absolute gem"
In 2012 the club celebrates it's Centenary year and we are proud that the club has continued to grow in stature throughout our 100 year history.
We continue to adapt to change and to the demands of modern times while maintaining the traditions of golf and the traditions of Heworth Golf Club.
Our course has matured into one of the most respected courses in the area and is always immaculately presented and boasts the best greens in the North East of England.
In 2009 the club hosted the Northern Counties match between the Durham County Golf Union and the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs. In 2011 we hosted the Durham County Golf Union County Championship and in our Centenary Year we have been asked to host the English Golf Union Seniors County Finals. For this we are honoured and immensely proud.
We have always offered a friendly welcome to all who visit our club (opens Windows Media Player in a new window) and we would be delighted to welcome you as our guest.
