European Title for Zara Naughton
Junior member Zara Naughton has won the prestigious U18 Girls Junior European Open Championship at the Alcaidesa Golf Club, Spain. This event is widely regarded as the toughest junior golf competition in Europe and Zara overcame the odds to take the title despite being one of the younger competitors.
Zara's performances across the 5 days play were excellent, seeing her finish on a +1 total, with a stunning -3 final round extending the final margin of victory to 8 shots!
With the competition covered by Sky Sports Golf, Zara was interviewed by the hugely popular Nick Dougherty, who was hugely impressed with her performance and win.
Former Heworth Junior, Faye Wheatley was also in the field and finished strongly to record a very impressive 3rd place.

Ladies Section Christmas Coffee Morning
A huge well done and thank you to our ladies section who raised a fantastic £895 (so far) courtesy of their brilliant Christmas Coffee Morning. There was over 180 visitors in 2 hours, with a great many of them from the neighbouring housing estates which was great to see.
The money raised will go towards the ladies section and the clubhouse refurbishment fund.
Thank you to everyone involved
