Holes 13 - 18
Palmers Hall:
Hole thirteen
Hole 13 is a long par 5 with trees and deep rough all the way up the right. With trees up the left side of the fairway which has a slight dogleg from left to right with two bunkers 150 yards from the green.
The green itself has two pot bunkers front right and run off areas on the left. The green slopes back to front with lots of subtle breaks.
Monument:
Hole fourteen
Hole 14 is a short par 4 with trees either side and fairway bunkers left and right. A good tee shot will leave a short iron in to a generous green that has two small bunkers at the front.
The green itself has a small shelf at the front then slopes away to the back.
A real birdie opportunity
Ditch:
Hole fifteen
Hole 15 is a mid length par 3 with two front bunkers left and right. A big green so club selection is vital.
The green itself slopes from back to front making for a very tricky two putt from above the hole.
With a newly designed bunker complex, including an island of heather in the right bunker, three here is a very good score.
Follingsby:
Hole sixteen
Hole 16 is a short par 4 with two mounds which narrow the fairway right at driving distance meaning rough awaits a wayward tee shot. There are also two well placed fairway bunkers both right and left so accuracy is important here. A good tee shot will leave a short iron into a tricky green.
The green itself is an undulating surface meaning a tricky read from all positions. You’ll also find a well placed pot bunker front right awaiting any short approach shots
A tricky two putt if you're on the wrong side.
Long Pull:
Hole seventeen
Hole 17 is a strong par four with trees right and left, but don’t worry the fairway is generous. Once you’ve hit your tee shot the fun begins.
There are two bunkers at the front of this narrow three tiered green which depending where the pin is can be a very tricky two putt. Four is a great score
Castle:
Hole eighteen
Hole 18, what a finishing hole. With out of bounds right and long this is a tough par 3 that can ruin a good card.
There are also four bunkers protecting this big green that slopes left to right, probably a little more than you think. The advice to all, is to play it as a par four as six’s and seven’s are common.
Just for that bit added pressure, everyone in the club house will be watching from the balcony, so no pressure.
